Even though The Point is the shortest of the three nine hole courses at 3,374 from the furthest tees as a par 36, don’t let the yardage fool you; it can be a challenge to any golfer no matter their handicap. The Point Course offers some of the best scenic views of the nine hole courses, so if you are looking to not only play well but enjoy the scenery that St. George, Utah has to offer this is the course for you.

The first three holes provide great challenges right off the bat. The first hole is a par 4 at 380 yards from the gold tees, requiring an accurate tee shot to avoid the fairway bunker. The second hole is a medium length par 5 at 500 yards from the gold tees, and has a slight dogleg left to it that must be taken into consideration from the tee box in order to set up a good approach shot into the green. The third hole is a lengthy par 3 at over 200 yards from the back tees, with water coming into play on the left side.

The middle three holes at The Point are what really make it stand out. The fourth hole is a medium length par 4 with a sharp dogleg to the left. Bunkers guard both sides of the fairway so an accurate tee shot is crucial to avoid a high score on this hole. The fifth is the signature hole of the course, as a short par 4 that borders a desert cliff. After such a great scenic hole the sixth also provides great views, but is much more challenging at over 420 yards from the gold tees.

What is great about The Point’s final three holes is that they are much easier than the beginning holes but involve water that has to be navigated around. The seventh is a short par 5 at only 480 yards from the gold tees but has water going down most of the left side. The eighth hole has a similar setup as a short par 4 with water also in play for the approach shot. Lastly, the ninth is a great finishing par 3 with water only coming in play with a mishit tee shot.

Overall The Point Course provides a great combination of both great scenery and great golfing holes. It will more than likely require every club in the bag at least once, and provides a great way to get out from a hectic day and just relax for awhile.

The Black Rock Course is the most intriguing one that Sunbrook has to offer. Why? Two words – lava rock. If you have never played on a golf course with lava rock before, make sure to play Black Rock at least once when in the area.

This nine hole course is not as long and difficult as the Woodbridge Course, but still offer unique challenges you won’t find anywhere else as a par 36 measuring out to nearly 3,400 yards from the furthest tees to 2,500 yards from the forward tees.

Holes one through three will more than likely require many clubs in the bag, as there is a medium length par 4, a short par 5, and a medium length par 3. Two out of the three holes feature tee shots over water, and the second hole has a slight dogleg to the right. These hole provide for low scoring but can also cause trouble if there are any mishit shots.

Holes four and five feature narrow tee and approach shots involving some water as well, while hole six provides the first of three holes carved out of lava rock. Hole 4 is a medium length par 5 that requires some strategy in order to get a good score. Hole five is truly a risk-reward hole in that it is only 280 yards from the gold tees but requires a shot over water in order to reach the green. Hole six is a straightforward hole but one that will require two excellent shots in order to reach it in two, as the par four measures out to over 400 yards from the golf tees.

The last three holes on the Black Rock Course provide for a great finish that is sure to please any golfer. Holes seven and eight are also carved out of rock, with the seventh being the signature hole on the Black Rock Course. Not only is the tee shot over lava rock, but the approach shot is as well. Hole 8 is a medium length par 4 that shouldn’t cause too much trouble with a solid iron shot into the green. Lastly, hole 9 is a straightaway par four that is quite lengthy and requires an accurate approach shot in order to avoid water on the right side.

What is great about the Black Rock Course at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah is that it provides an experience that few courses in the country can offer similarly. It is easy enough for those who don’t play golf very much to play well at while also providing some difficulty from the back tees for those who want to try their luck. So try Blackrock while you’re staying at St. George Corporate Housing.

The Woodbridge course is considered by many to be the most challenging of the three nine hole courses, and for good reason. As a par 36 Woodbridge measure out to nearly 3,500 yards from the furthest tees. Not only does it have length, but many of the holes have water to deal with.

Even though the course offers its fair share of challenges, it can also provide an enjoyable experience for those within the public and private sectors who may not have the time to go out and play as often. The Woodbridge course is kept in great condition year-round, and offers some of the best views that St. George has to offer.

What is great about the Woodbridge course is that the first three holes are fairly easy and allow for great scoring early on. Holes 1 and 3 are par 5’s that can be reached in two by the longer hitters, but also offer easy lay-up shots to get that first birdie of the day early. Hole 2 is a medium-length par 4 with a minor dogleg to the right and water just short of the green, with par being a good score here.

The middle three holes at the Woodbridge course are where the challenges really begin, starting with the par 3 fourth hole. Not only is it 187 yards from the gold tees, but it is a shot into an island green similar to the one at TPC Sawgrass. It is truly an intimidating shot from the tee box, and par is always a great score at this hole. After that it doesn’t let up at all, with the next hole being a 400+ yard par 4 where the course gets its name from. The sixth hole is another lengthy par 4 with a slight dogleg right to it.

After going through the treacherous middle three holes, the last three holes let up a little but not much. From the gold tees players will experience two par 4’s over 400 yards and a medium-length par 3, all featuring sand traps of various sizes.

Whether you are visiting for the first time and staying in St. George corporate housing, or are a permanent resident, one of the must-play courses in St. George, Utah is the Woodbridge Course at Sunbrook Golf Course. It offers fantastic views, a challenging layout, and an overall great experience that you will not find anywhere else in the region.
